From 16 to 22 September 2025, a Study Visit to Dublin was held within the framework of the project Pirouette 2 – Performative Arts for Youth Engagement and Community Regeneration. The visit brought together 20 youth and youth workers from 6 EU and Western Balkan countries, and was hosted by the Irish organisation Redial Partnership, a partner of the project. This visit aimed to explore and strengthen approaches that encourage and foster “unprivileged art(ists)” – young artists from marginalised and underrepresented communities.
An inspiring and carefully designed programme enabled participants to connect with local civil society organisations, explore community-based initiatives, and witness youth-led actions that use art as a powerful tool for empowerment and social change. Through site visits, discussions, and collaborative sessions, participants gained valuable insight into organisational models and practices that support inclusion, creativity, and meaningful youth engagement.
The days in Dublin were filled with creativity, laughter, and discovery, highlighted by visits to outstanding organisations such as Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, Core Youth Service, Youth Theatre Ireland, Rialto Youth, and the Rediscovery Centre. Memorable cultural experiences included the live performance “Yellow” at The LAB Gallery during Culture Night, as well as the striking artistic expressions showcased at The Doorway Gallery.
A key focus of the Study Visit was the empowerment of consortium staff and youth workers, who will transfer the acquired knowledge into their local contexts. As a concrete outcome, youth workers will begin the implementation of cultural workshops, creating inclusive spaces for young people to express themselves creatively and engage with their communities.
Heartfelt thanks to all local partners, especially the host Redial Partnership, for their warm hospitality, and to all participants whose energy, curiosity, and inspiration made this week truly unforgettable.
This activity was implemented as part of the Pirouette 2 project, funded by the EU Erasmus+ Programme. The project is led by LDA Mostar, in partnership with Redial Partnership (Ireland); Anibar (Kosovo*); NGO NEST Berlin (Germany); Optimisti (Montenegro); Magnet House (Serbia).
